Text Box: 4 Things Every Parent Should Know Before Choosing a Dance Studio Text Box: All of our dancers have an opportunity to perform in two recitals a year. Each year the Granite Bay Dance Connection has two recitals: a Holiday Show and the June Show. The recitals are an opportunity for all GBDC dancers to perform and show off their latest moves. They are held for those students who wish to take part; however, participation is not mandatory. The recitals involve a recital fee, one or more costumes purchased by the student, a dress rehearsal and the cooperation of the students and their parents. For both the Holiday Show and the June Show we have two performances, and all dancers are in both shows. In addition, we have a dress rehearsal before the productions, which is mandatory for all dancers participating in the recital. The operating costs of the production (e.g., auditorium rental, lighting and sound technicians, etc.) are covered by a combination of a recital fee and ticket sales. The recital fee is $35 per dancer and includes two (2) free tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased prior to the performances for a nominal fee of $8 each or $12 at the door. The Holiday Show The Holiday Show includes some traditional holiday music and some with a new twist, leading to a very unique and entertaining way to kick off the holiday season. The show is typically the first or second weekend in December. The June Show The June Show is typically at the end of June and is always a theme-based production. Past themes have included: GBDC Celebrates the One Hit Wonder - each of the songs used were one hit wonders GBDC Goes On A Family Road Trip - each of the songs were about a place, traveling, or vacation activities What’s In A Name - each of the songs had a person’s name in the title GBDC Goes To Work - each of the songs were related to working or a job Let’s Party - Celebrating 5 Years! - each song was on a top party song list and the audience joined in the fun doing party dances Click here for information regarding the upcoming recital.
